On screen debut

I was very lucky to spend this morning with artist and silk screen printing extraordinaire Clarissa Hulse. Instantly recognisable, her bright and beautiful colourways and iconic designs can be found on an array of homewares, from bedlinen and lampshades to picnicware and cushions.

Nestled away in a quite corner of Highbury, her warm and friendly studio is as inspiring as the artist herself, rich with a plethora of silks in a rainbow of shades, striking prints and projects to nose through.

Armed with an apron, plenty of ideas and an almost impossible choice of silks, colours and designs the workshop taught us how to silk screen our very own cushion.

Watch this space for the finished results....

Blooming lovely

I'm a big fan of painterly florals, so Graham and Brown's gorgeous new collection is right up my street. It's just perfect for making this summer sunshine last a little bit longer than just the weekend!

Up, up and away

I've just spotted these glorious lampshades in the current issue of Living Etc and I'm a little bit in love. They're just the thing to transform a dull space on a drab day like today into something magical. And the best bit is that the light switch is the balloon string! They're available in a rainbow spectrum of shades from John Moncrieff

Love letters

I'm a big fan of multi-tasking, so these napkins which not only keep soup from down your top but also make you seem like a book buff, have seriously caught my eye. Trust Anthropologie. Screen printed with letters written by some of the best-known authors like Mark Twain and Emily Dickinson, they're sure to impress dinner party guests.

Winging it

I love these striking butterfly plates from one of my favourite stores and reclaiming extraordinaires, RE. Using vintage plates which are then decorated and refired give this unusual look, and are bang up to date with the botanical trend found on the high street. Forget girly pink butterfly motifs, these are seriously cool.
