Stag do

Previewing My Deco boutique's winter collection today has inspired me to get crafty. Amongst a whole host of design-led gems were these quirky and colourful mounted antlers which I quickly decided I couldn't live without. With pay day not quite in sight, a swift visit to eBay found my very own set of Roe deer antlers for a rather discounted price. Turns out there are quite a lot of animal bones/ horns / skulls / stuffed mammals just waiting to be snapped up and transformed with a lick of paint, who knew?

Mind the gap

Formerly part of the district line seating, this rather funky doormat is perfect for adding part of the great London underground without even so much of a whiff of rush hour madness.

Recycling at its best.

Azure thing

What better place to store my smalls that this bourbon chest from Made? Small but perfectly formed, a bold and beautiful paint job has brought this classic shape right up to date. And I for one could not resist the bargain price tag of £149. Why so cheap? Made's ethical philosophy is to cut out the middle man, providing great design direct from the artist themselves.

Shame it takes up to 12 weeks to arrive, but I've got a feeling it will be worth the wait.

Lightbulb moment

What better place to start adding colour than the ceiling? Berry Red sell these Danish-designed paper lampshades in everything from retro prints to ditzy florals, they only problem is which one I like best!

And those clever Danes haven't stopped there, they even stock hanging cables to replace a standard white flex with a more colourful blue, green or rather fetching fuchsia.

Looking up has never looked so good.
